3D CAD MODELING
Pioneer Technologies has in house, SDRC's I-DEAS Master Series suite of solid modeler complete with solid- surface-, assembly-, and FEA modeling, a Linear Finite Element solver, as well as some drafting capability.
SOLID MODELING: Fully three-dimensional, mathematically accurate lines, surfaces and volumes can be created by IDEAS Master Series. With its relational database of all the geometry, and history, the program offers considerable flexibility of approach in modeling solid parts, the way one would imagine it. It allows the user to develop one's own styles and preferences of command usage. Part Data Management, Variational Analysis, are among its leading edge capabilities.
ASSEMBLY: By repeating instances of the same part and by positioning them individually, I-DEAS allows the building up of complex assemblies, and the creation of Bill of Materials, weight calculation etc..
FINITE ELEMENT MODELING: The FEA modeling capability of I-DEAS consists of free or mapped meshing (if the model allows it) of surfaces, volumes with a variety of element types. A comprehensive range of one-, two- and three-dimensional element types as well as other 'boundary' type elements, such as gap, springs, dashpots, rigid elements it is possible to idealize most situations of structural analysis. Since some types of analyses require a simple idealized model -- and not the real 3D CAD model -- I-DEAS also permits the FEA modeling during and not after the CAD development. Various types of loading can be applied on the mesh or associatively on the 3D CAD model straightaway. Furthermore, multi-body problems can also be modeled.
LINEAR FINITE ELEMENT SOLVER: Most problems, if not all of real life can be modeled as linear to a reasonable degree of accuracy. Especially in initial design/analysis stages, linear treatment provides crucial information economically. The FEA solver of I-DEAS is capable of solving a variety of linear stress analysis, vibration, buckling, thermal stress, thermal mapping and modal analysis problems.
POST-PROCESSOR: Results of the FEA solution, obtained from I-DEAS or from ABAQUS can be viewed in 3D in a variety of ways using the Post-Processing capability.
FEA Translator: For non-linear FE analysis, I-DEAS provides a translator to a variety of external solvers. Pioneer uses ABAQUS and LS-DYNA 3D
